Welcome! Right now, we’re racking our noggins to plan the ninth annual race for the Atchison community, in which we will honor the legacy of Mary Lea Johanning and the smart young Atchison women like her.

Joggin for the Noggin is the primary fundraiser for the Mary Lea Johanning Scholarship Foundation. Currently, the fund has just enough money to cover all committed awards plus next year’s scholarship recipient. The proceeds from this race will be used to start an endowment for the foundation, with the ultimate goal of raising enough to support this scholarship in perpetuity. This scholarship is an annual, merit-based award for one Atchison High School woman.

The event is a chance for people to come together - local and out of town, young and old, families and friends. It’s a birthday party too! Mary Lea would have been 39 years old this year.
